Glofox in App Barcodes are generated using Code 39 technology. This is a simple form of barcode that is generated purely by numbers. In our system, the barcode is generated based on the phone number of the particular member.
If you do not want to use our in App Barcodes, we recommend that you order Code 39 barcodes instead. If you already have barcodes in place, there is a good chance that these barcodes will work with your Glofox mobile App.
Glofox integrates with the following barcodes, which are the most widely used standards globally:
- Code 128 or Code 39
- EAN 13 barcode standards
When ordering barcodes, you are usually asked for a range of numbers. In respect of Code 39 we would recommend that the client orders a range of 5 digit to 6 digit numbers, i.e. 10,000 to 100,000 as it is unlikely to overlap with a phone number. The minimum barcode length that can be used is 5.
The scanner that we recommend is here. We also recommend that you buy this stand here or one that is compatible with the ArkScan scanner. Without the stand, you will have to hold the scanner in your hand and press a button in order for it to scan.
