What is the email editor?

With our email editor, you can customize your one-off, Amplify emails, and some automated messages to craft visually creative and brand-compliant campaigns. You can use it to format your emails the way you want by dragging and dropping content elements, such as text, images, videos, call-to-action buttons, and more.

Elements within the editor

The editor is divided into three sections; Content, Rows, and Settings.

Under Content, you'll see the following elements:

  • Title
  • Paragraph - text formatted as a paragraph
  • List - ordered and unordered lists
  • Image
  • Button - inserts a call-to-action, e.g. Book now
  • Table
  • Divider - inserts a line between sections
  • Spacer - inserts spacing between sections
  • Social - inserts social media icons with links
  • Video - allows you to embed a video
  • Icons
  • Menu
  • Text - standard text block

Under Rows, you'll see different row formats. These will enable you to drop elements in a specific format. For example, you can insert a row with two placeholders so you can have text and an image side by side.

Finally, under Settings, you can control the content area width, alignment, colors, and default font.

Tips and Tricks for using the editor

Using a drag-and-drop editor can be a little daunting if you are not familiar with how it works. We are here to help!

Firstly, we have templates you can use for quick and easy email composition. When you compose your message, click on Load from template, and choose from the list of templates.

Once you select a template, you can easily fill in the elements yourself.

If you want to format your message without a template, you can do so by dragging and dropping individual elements to suit your needs.

Once you have placed your elements, click on them for more settings. For example, clicking into the image block allows you to upload an image from your device, import it through a link, or you can choose from a gallery of royalty-free stock images.

Click into the image block and click Choose image.

Select whether you want to upload an existing image, import an image, or search free photos.

After you insert the image, you will be able to apply effects to it. You can resize it, crop it, add text, stickers, etc.

Using Rows

Rows are a great way to format content in a structured way. The rows contain content placeholders so you know exactly where each element will be placed.

Drag and drop a row into the message area, then place your content elements.
