Why do I have to create a Developer Account for Apple and not Google?
We cannot directly publish your app to our own Apple developer account. You must create and maintain your own account with Apple. This is due Apple's overarching policies regarding "white label" apps--whereby a single developer cannot use the same base template to release multiple apps. Unlike Apple, Google's policies are less strict, so we are able host your app on our own account. This is also more secure as your app and the corresponding Google API is maintained through our account and cloud.
Can I enroll in the Apple Developer Program as an Individual instead of an Organization Account?
No, you must be enrolled as an Organization. Apple does not allow Individual accounts to add other accounts with developer permissions. Without these permissions, our team is unable to publish your app on your own account. Therefore, you must be enrolled as an Organization to have your own stand-alone iOS app.
What if I accidentally enrolled as an Individual already?
To update your account on Apple from Individual to Organization, please follow these steps:
- Go to the Contact Us form on Apple Developer’s Program pages
- Log in with your Apple ID and Password
- Select your Region
- Choose "Account Information Update" as your Subject
- Copy and paste the following message, ensuring to input your information:
I’d like to convert my account from Individual to Organization. This will be our only Organization account. Here is the information regarding the company:
- CEO/Director Name: [First and Last Name]
- Company Name: [Your Company Name, including Ltd or Inc.]
- Account Type: Organization.
- D-U-N-S Number: [Your Company’s DUNS number]
- Address: [Your Company’s Legal Address]
- Phone Number: [Your mobile phone or another phone number where you can be reached]
Apple will contact you either by call or email to verify your enrollment. They will then send you an email with a link to a form where you can provide more information about your Company.
Once updated, please update our user Admin permissions and ensure every box is checked.
Do I need a legal business entity to have my app set up?
Yes, your business must be recognized as a legal entity (such as a corporation, limited partnership, or limited liability company) to enter into the legal terms and obligations of Apple Developer Program agreements. DBAs, fictitious businesses, trade names, and branches are not accepted. This is required before getting a D-U-N-S number. To get your app as fast as possible, please register your business prior to starting the app process. This is required by Apple. You are not able to bypass this.
I have a D-U-N-S # but the information needs to be updated. How do I update it?
To update the information linked to your DUNS #, submit a request here. It can take up to 2 business days for D&B to provide Apple with updated information.
I need support with my Apple Developer Account. Who should I contact?
Our team is limited in the support we can provide since your Developer account is hosted and managed through Apple. For this reason, we recommend reaching out directly to Apple Developer Support for all questions related to your Apple ID, Apple Developer enrollment, account information and account updates.
It’s been over two weeks since I enrolled in the Apple Developer Program and I have not heard from Apple to verify my account. What do I do?
Sign in to your account on the developer website with the Apple ID you used to enroll to check the status of your enrollment. If it’s been over two weeks and you still have not heard from Apple, contact Apple Developer support with your Enrollment ID.
I’m receiving lots of emails from Apple, what do I do with them?
Check out this article here on what emails are your responsibility and which ones do we handle for you.
My app is live, but I want to update the branding of my app. What do I do?
Reach out to our team with your request! Please provide the current details of your app, what you want to change (colours, logos, name, etc) and be sure to provide us with the assets.
My app is no longer showing in the Apple App Store! What happened?
It’s likely you did not renew your Apple Membership. You will need to log in to the App Store Connect with the Apple ID you used to enroll. Once logged in, you will see a yellow call-to-action and can follow the steps from there. Once you have renewed your Apple membership, it can take up 24 hours for your app to appear. Note, the app is functional for those who already have downloaded! But no new customers can download the app until it’s live and back in the store. Be sure to periodically check your account and be mindful of the emails Apple sends you!
Push notifications have stopped working for my app. How do I fix this?
Please reach out to us! We’ll be sure to get your notifications back up and running.
