Getting Started on your Standalone Branded App!

Follow

Complete the steps below to get your own Standalone Branded App.

Step 1: Apply for a D-U-N-S Number

A D-U-N-S is a unique nine-digit identifier used to identify you and your business. This is required to enroll in the Apple Developer Program.

Please follow these instructions to apply for a D-U-N-S number.

Important note!

Your business MUST be recognized as a legal entity (e.g. corporation, limited partnership, or limited liability company) to enter into the legal terms and obligations of Apple Developer Program agreements. DBAs, fictitious businesses, trade names, and branches are not accepted. If your business is not a recognized legal entity and you have no intention to be, then your own Standalone Branded App may not be the right product for you. You can still use the Glofox Member app.

Step 2: Enroll in the Apple Developer Program and Add Glofox as an Admin

Reminder: Your business MUST be recognized as a legal entity (e.g., corporation, limited partnership, or limited liability company) to enter into the legal terms and obligations of Apple Developer Program agreements. DBAs, fictitious businesses, trade names, and branches are not accepted.

Please be sure Step 1 is completed before you proceed with your Apple Developer Account.

Follow the instructions here to enroll in the Apple Developer Program as an organization.

Once your account has been processed and your membership paid for, use the email standalone.app.development@abcfitness.com to add us as Admin. Follow these steps here.

Once you add us, be sure to complete all remaining actionable items under the Business tab in App Store Connect: Apple Terms and Trader Registration.

Step 3: Submit your Details and App Assets for Design and Build

By now, you should have completed the following:

  • Apple Developer Account as an Organization
  • Added Glofox as Admin (and Glofox accepted the invite!)
  • Your Glofox Dashboard is completed and ready to go

Login to your onboarding portal to finish submitting your assets! Go to the ‘App Setup’ tile to provide the final details for your app: App Name, App Description, and Logo(s)!

App name

App names must meet Apple and Google’s requirements:

  • 30 characters or less
  • Must be unique on the App Store
  • Be specific to your business location or identity
    • Example: Lifestyle Fitness – Manchester
    • Avoid generic names like Lifestyle Fitness
  • Android banner logo - 1024 x 500 - Logo will be placed in your Google Play Store listing

Note: If your app name differs from the name on your Apple Developer Account, Apple may request DBA (Doing Business As) documentation. This is common — ensure there’s a clear, legal documented relationship between your business name and app name. If your app name is different than your business name, please share your DBA with your Onboarding Manager if you haven’t already!

Required image assets

Two image assets are required to begin your app build:

Asset Size (px) Requirements
Splash screen 4096 x 4096 Plain background + logo only (PNG, high-quality)
App icon 512 x 512 Plain background + simple, vector-style logo (PNG, high-quality)

Guidelines for logos and backgrounds

  • Logo must be basic, vector-style, high contrast, and not overly detailed
  • Background color must be a solid color — no patterns, gradients, or photos
  • Provide the hex code for your chosen background color
  • Photographs or complex graphics are not accepted by Apple or Google
    • Acceptable Example:
A clean icon logo (e.g. a minimalist icon of your brand) on a flat color background.
    • Unacceptable Example:
A photo of your facility or a logo over a textured background.

Step 4: Congratulations! You’ve Submitted your Standalone Branded App!

Yay! You’re almost at the finish line. If we have everything we need, you can expect to receive your app in a couple of weeks' time. Note, the app must be reviewed and approved by Apple and Google, which can take up to 7 business days.

Your Onboarding Manager will notify you once your app is live!
