Only recurring memberships, that are not prorated (setup to charge on the 1st of the month) can be paused.
How do I pause a membership?
The membership will be paused from the day you pause it, until the date you set to reactivate.
To set up a pause, just follow the steps below:
- Go to the Member's Profile
- Click on the Membership tab
- Select 'Pause'
- Select the date you want the Membership to re-activate
- Click 'Confirm.'
You will know the membership is successfully paused due to the yellow 'Paused' icon. The 'Current period starts' will let you know when the membership will re-activate.
Want to edit the re-activation date? Simply select the 'Edit' button and select the new date.
By editing the re-activation date, this will not change the next payment date. By this we mean if we edit the above membership, set to reactivate today instead of the 19th, the payment date will stay on the 22nd.
If you are trying to edit the next payment date of a membership, the best method is to cancel the current active membership and subscription. Then re-add the membership, with a future start date of when you want the payment date to be.
What happens to the client's next payment?
When pausing, the next payment date will be extended by the number of days the membership is paused for.
So if I had 7 days until my next payment, and then went away for 2 days, my next payment date, will be moved out the two further days.
