How to send an SMS from the dashboard

There are multiple ways for you to send SMS messages to your clients. The options available to you will depend on the Glofox plan you are on.

How to send an SMS to a specific client

To send an SMS to a specific client, follow these steps; 

  1. From the dashboard, click the 'Manage' tab and then the 'Clients' tab or use 'Global Search'
  2. Search for the client you want to send a message too 
  3. Once selected, click the 'Send Message' button located on the top of their profile
  4. A pop-up will appear with an option to send a 'Notification' or a 'SMS', click 'SMS' 
  5. Compose your SMS and then click 'Send Message'

How to use the 'Client' filters to send targeted SMS to a group of clients

The most valuable way to send an SMS is by using the 'Leads' and 'Client' filters to target specific groups of people. 

For example;

  • You might want to notify all of your trialers that are expiring within the next two days about their membership options going forward to encourage retention
  •  You might want to send an SMS to clients that have booked more than three times to let them know that they're making great progress, and you can't wait for your next session together to boost customer sentiment. 
  • You might want to message all of your active members who haven't attended any sessions in the last week, to re-engage them in your program

Whatever your reasoning, you can easily send an SMS to a filtered list by following these steps;

  1. From the Glofox dashboard, go to the 'Manage' tab
  2. From here click on the 'Leads' or 'Clients' tab 
  3. Click '+Add Filters' and choose the filters you want to apply to create your SMS list
  4. You can add as many filters as you like by clicking the '+Add Filters' again after setting the first one
  5. Click the 'Actions' drop-down
  6. Once selected, click the 'Send Message' button located on the top of their profile
  7. A pop-up will appear with an option to send an 'SMS'
  8. Compose your SMS and then click 'Send Message'

How to set up and send automated SMS messages

An automated SMS can be sent to a 'Lead' when they create an account with your gym/studio. 

You can personalize the 'Welcome SMS' sent to the client, allowing you to ensure that the 'Leads' first interaction with you matches your tone and brand.

GDPR guidelines for EU customers

If you are a European business you must ensure you are complying with the EU's new General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). If you are sending an SMS intended for marketing purposes, click 'This is a Marketing Message'. With this option selected, only clients that have opted in for marketing messages will receive this SMS.

Your client would have been prompted to opt-in during sign-up. You can edit this setting from the dashboard if, for example, a client asks you to change their settings in person by going to their profile and clicking the 'Details' tab
