An Overview of the Member App and Standalone App

The Member App The Standalone App
Enable your members to view class schedules, make class bookings, join waitlists, and buy memberships, class packs or merchandise through the Glofox 'Member App'. The Glofox 'Member App' provides a simplified booking process for your members and ensures ease of use for all users.

If you have the 'Member App' or 'Standalone App' included in your package, you will have an easy way for your members to view, book, purchase and much more, direct from their smartphone. 

Whether your clients access your app by downloading your own 'Standalone App' from the app store or downloading the Glofox 'Member App' and searching for your gym/studio, there are lots of ways you can customize your app.

Purchasing the Standalone App add-on

The 'Member App' comes free with a Glofox Gold package or higher. However, to get enhance and elevate your brand you might want to purchase the 'Standalone App' to have a global presence in the App Store and Google Play and a full packaged branded app. We will build you a fully customized app, unique to your facility, complete with logo and colors.

When you purchase the 'Standalone App' add on, our mobile developers will be ready to start building, but we want to make sure you have the final say in how your app will look. Please take a look at the options below and let us know what you feel suits your brand better;

App Icon

Your app icon is the icon seen on the app itself when downloaded to your phone. It is also used in the App Store and Play Store. The icon is generally displayed with either a full logo or with a logo and text;

In-app Icon

Within your app, your logo will be displayed at the top of the screen. Your logo can be displayed as a square icon or if applicable to the design of your logo, it can be displayed with a width larger than its height.

When you have decided which options you would like, please let your Customer Onboarding Manager know and our mobile developers will dive straight in and build out your app for you.

Customizing and branding the Member App and Standalone App

You can customize the 'Member App' and 'Standalone App' to best fit your brand. To do this, follow these steps;

  1. From the dashboard, click on the ☰ icon on the top right of your screen 
  2. Click 'Settings'
  3. Then click 'Member App'

Logo

If you have the 'Standalone App', your logo is what will appear on the phone of your client instead of the Glofox logo. For those with the Glofox 'Member App', your logo will show in the header of your app only. 

Customizing your colors

  • Primary Color: This color will be seen on schedule list icons, the base of buttons and status bars
  • Secondary Color: This color will be seen on button text, the bottom navigation bar, in the Membership section and some icons
  • Tertiary Color: This color will be used as a backup if there are any accessibility issues

Please Note: We've done a lot of work in the app to ensure that all elements are accessible for your clients. The app will do calculations to ensure that all elements are readable with your brand color, and if not, it will try another color from your brand, or default to black or white.

Events 

You can decide what features and services that your client/members see on your app so you can toggle this feature on or off. You can also toggle on and off the information shown within events; 

  • Show past classes
  • Display facility name
  • Display level
  • Display total event size
  • Display total bookings

Event Images

Adding imagery to your app is a great way to add a little more of your gym/studios brand to your client's experience. You can upload an image for each event type that you have in the app. This image will show in two places;

  1. If you have more than one type of event, the image will show on the 'Event picker' screen
  2. The image will also show on the header of the 'Schedule List' for that event 

What will the images look like on the app?

Schedule Screen: No matter how many types of events you have, you can always have a 'hero' image at the top of the Schedule for that event.

Please note:

  • Images should be uploaded as a png or jpg format. We recommend uploading images that are less than 400kb to ensure quick loading for your client. 
  • The image can be no bigger than 1MB or it will cause the app to crash
  • Max image size is 1000 x 1000 pixels

Once your clients are on app version 8.1.4 or later, they will see any updates you make within 24hours.
