How to Alert Your Clients of Changes Using Push Notifications

What is a Push notification?

Push notifications are small messages that can reach your clients anywhere and anytime. The 'Push' notification will appear as pop-ups only when clients are logged into their Member App. 

You can send a push notification with ease from any tab of the dashboard. To do that, click the speech bubble in the top right corner of the screen and a pop-up box will appear. bubble_button.gif

 

How to send a Push Notification

When sending the Push Notification, you must first select whether you would like to send your message to;

  • Everyone
  • A group

Send to everyone

Under this option, your message will send to all of your clients. After clicking the bubble button mentioned above, follow these steps and then send your message to everyone; 

  1. From the drop-down menu beside 'Send this message to,' you should select 'Send to everyone.'
  2. Write your message e.g., 'Free Home Workout Available Now!, Or 'Urgent - Gym Closure Update' 
  3. Decide if this is a marketing message or not
  4. Click 'Send'

Send to a group 

Send to certain members based on their activity

This option can be useful if you want to message specific clients based on their activity. Under this option, your message will only send to clients that match the selected activity criteria.

  1. From the drop-down menu beside 'Send this message to,' you should select 'Send to a group.'
  2. Click 'certain members based on their activity' from the drop-down menu. Filters will then appear for you to tailor
  3. Choose your filters:
    • Booking status: Select whether you would like to send your message to members who have booked or have not booked
    • Period: Select the number of days/weeks/months/years you would like to use
  1. Write your message
  2. Decide if this is a marketing message or not
  3. Click 'Send'

Send to certain members based on their membership

This option can be handy if you want to message clients whose membership has expired. Under this option, you can send push notifications to members who have purchased a particular membership type. 

  1. From the drop-down menu beside 'Send this message to,' you should select 'Send to a group.'
  2. Click 'certain members based on their membership', from the drop-down menu. Filters will then appear for you to tailor
  3. Choose your filters:
    • Membership Name: Select the membership name that members should be on to receive this message 
    • Expiration: Select whether this message should be sent only to memberships that are set to expire in the next / expired in the last / that is not Pay As You Go or that started in the last.
    • Pay As You Go: Select if you want to exclude Pay As You Go, clients,
    • Membership Period - Expires: Select if you're going to search memberships expired in a period
    • Membership Period - Start: Select the period that should be taken into account from days/weeks/months/years. 
    • Period: Select the period that should be taken into account from days/weeks/months/years. 
  1. Write your message
  2. Decide if this is a marketing message or not
  3. Click 'Send'

You will see the number of clients who will receive the message in the bottom left corner of the pop-up box.

To check the status of your 'Push' notification, follow these steps; 

  1. From the dashboard, go to the 'Connect' tab
  2. Click on 'Push Notifications
  3. Click on the 'Push' message you sent

Please note;

Push messages marked as 'marketing messages' will not send to clients that have opted out to receive marketing messages. Push messages will also not send to those that don't have a working phone number or Member App set up.
