What is Member Activity in Glofox Insights?

From the Member Activity dashboard in Glofox Insights, you’ll have a clearer picture of the overall membership status of your clients. Simply set a date range for any of the following membership data points and you’ll be given a snapshot of their current totals along with trends over time.

This includes:

  • Active Members
  • New Joiners
  • Rejoiners
  • Expired Members
  • Paused Members
  • Overdue Members
  • Member Net Change

Getting the most out of your Member Activity data

Each of the segments in Member Activity can be examined in more detail by simply clicking on the data you’d like to know more about. This will provide you with a clear list of the exact members for each. With this information you could target each individual with a more tailored approach depending on the segment they fall into, helping to move these numbers in a positive direction. 

Active Members

Having a view of all of your Active Members as well as their individual membership details in one place creates an easy-to-understand picture of your client-base. With this information, you can ensure that you are providing this segment of customers with the highest quality of service and the most up-to-date fitness advice from your gym or studio. Knowing who your active members are and making sure that they are getting the best out of your business is one of the most fundamental elements that helps increase long-term retention.


New Joiners & Rejoiners

You may wish to provide a more hands-on experience for New Joiners and Rejoiners as they get started. With Glofox Insights you’ll know exactly who these members are and be able to reach out to them with a personal touch by pulling their member data directly from the dashboard. Here’s some action suggestions to get the most out of your New Joiner and Rejoiner data.

Engage closely with New Joiners by providing them with free, branded gym gear, giving them extra one-on-one attention, or laying out a personalized fitness & nutrition plan to help make them feel extra welcome.

Set a sales goal for the team based on the number of New Joiners over a given period of time and agree that commission is paid if the new joiner is still a member after 3 months.

Incentivized sales team; Increased acquisition; Increased retention. 

Follow up soon after sign up to ensure that all New Joiners feel welcomed and that they are given the best support while getting started.

Higher retention.

Target New Joiners with a special offer or incentive if they get a friend to sign up. 

Higher retention; Increase in qualified leads.

Examine the types of memberships that lead to clients rejoining.

Allows you to understand the memberships that are attracting users over and over again. You could then use this information to re-target other past customers with these memberships.

Reward Rejoiners with a free class or some other incentive such as free gym merchandise. 

More committed customers; Increased retention.



Expired & Paused Members

You may need to give your Expired or Paused members more specific attention in order to re-engage them with your brand. This is made seamless by providing that member information to you in one simple click. Armed with these valuable insights, you could offer the members of these segments a limited-time discount, package deal or some other incentive scheme. This could help to get them back and active with your business, and, most importantly, get your business back on the right track for growth.

View a list of your clients with an Expired/Paused membership status along with the membership/plan name and the customers' contact details. Reach out to these past customers to see why they no longer have an active membership. This helps you determine which memberships/plans are causing the most cancellations/pauses and why. You can then try to incentivize these customers to rejoin/unpause.

Awareness of memberships/plans that are not working; Reactivated past or inactive members.

Look at your list of Expired/Paused Members and examine the journey for that customer or the series of events that led to the expiry/pause of their membership. By understanding what a 'cancellation risk' looks like you could proactively reach out to such members to reengage them with your brand and prevent future cancellations.

By viewing Paused Members per location you can identify any problem areas that may exist for your business. Perhaps one location has a particularly high number of paused members. Member Net Change provides you with a snapshot of your membership growth rate at any given moment. With this information, you have a finger on the pulse of your business at all times to make sure that your team’s efforts are focused on the right areas to create the right kind of impact. Viewing historical member net change data in Glofox Insights shows you which months are performing the worst. You could then examine the activities that were or were not carried out during those poorly performing months. This can help you create a more intense strategy to prevent cancellations and run more effective campaigns to increase lead conversion during these down periods.
