What is roaming charges for courses?
Roaming members will be able to make purchases, including courses, at any location, not just their home site. This feature is available to Glofox customers who utilize roaming.
The first time the member roams to a location, or staff open their profile in a roaming location, the member's stored card on file at their home location is copied to the roaming location. The customer can then use this card to complete payments in the roaming location. See below for full list of purchase types available today.
In addition to the automatic copying of the card, roaming members and staff can also update their card details, or if they had no card details on file in their home location, they could add a card. In these scenarios the card details entered will exist only in the roaming location they were added and will not be added to the home location or override any card details that already exist in the home location.
In Dashboard in a roaming location you can:
- Purchase a course
- Purchase any other booking
- Do a custom charge
- Purchase credit pack
- Purchase a store item
- Do an account balance top up (Stripe only)
In App as a member you can:
- Purchase a course
- Purchase any other booking
- Purchase a store item
Card updates only change the card on file at the location where the update was made.
On the Pro app, roaming members can only be reached by opening an existing booking; staff can't search for roaming members or book one in directly.
What this means for you
- No manual workarounds for roaming members booking courses. Roaming members can now purchase courses in exactly the same was as home members.
- The member’s card is copied from their home location, so there's nothing new to collect at the door.
Coming Soon
We have some additional features already in development which will be coming soon:
- No show and late cancel fees: roaming locations will be able to charge these fees against a member's payment method that was copied across or updated subsequently.
- Credit pack purchases via the member app: roaming members will be able to buy credit packs directly from the member app.
- Credit pack purchases via the Pro app
