What are tags?

Tags are custom properties that you create, enabling you to easily label and segment your customers.

Some common use cases include:

  • A customer's level (e.g. Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced)
  • Martial arts belt tracking (e.g. White belt, Yellow belt, etc)
  • Identifying VIP customers
  • Flagging customers who are students
  • Grouping customers by studio-defined personas
  • Quickly identifying important information on Booking lists
  • And more

Tags are manually created and static, so they're an excellent complement to our existing dynamic filters (for example, how many visits a member has or what membership they're on). By mixing dynamic filters and custom tags, you can create hyper-personalised segments of customers to track and engage with.

How can I create and delete tags?

By going to Connect > Tags, you can see the full list of created tags, create, and delete tags, to easily manage them:

Customer's profile

Alternatively, when on a customer's profile, if you search for a tag that doesn't yet exist, you'll be able to create it directly there. This will also automatically assign them to the newly created tag:

How can I apply and remove tags?

Tags page

When in the Tags page, you can click on any tag, to see the list of currently assigned customers. From here, you can also easily remove assignees and add new ones in bulk:

Customer's profile

When going to a customer’s profile, click on the “+ Add tag” option:

Upon click, a modal opens up where you can:

  1. Search for existing tags and select one or multiple tags to apply
  2. Optionally, create a new tag and apply it
  3. Remove a previously applied tag
  4. Save your changes

Seeing tags in booked events

When opening a booked event—classes, appointments, courses, and facilities—you will be able to see tags applied to any customers who are booked in for that event:

This makes it easy to check key information about them ahead of the event, facilitating a more personalized interaction with them.

Tags in the Pro App

Tags created on the Glofox Dashboard are visible in the Pro App. Trainers can see critical client information, such as injuries or pregnancy directly on the class list and within the member profile.

Please note:

The initial tag creation is only possible from the Dashboard. The functionality to add and remove existing tags is planned for a future release.
